Anti-Fraud Policy

GiftCasher maintains a zero-tolerance policy against fraud and illegal activity.

Last updated: April 19, 2026

1. Our Commitment

GiftCasher is committed to maintaining a safe, trustworthy, and transparent platform. We invest significantly in fraud detection technology and manual review processes to protect both our platform and our legitimate users. Any form of fraud, deception, or abuse will not be tolerated and will be met with immediate action.

2. What Constitutes Fraud

The following activities are strictly prohibited and constitute fraud on our platform:

2.1 Gift Card Fraud

  • Submitting stolen gift cards obtained through unauthorized purchases, phishing, or theft
  • Submitting cards that have already been redeemed, partially used without disclosure, or reported as fraudulent
  • Misrepresenting the face value or remaining balance of a gift card
  • Submitting counterfeit, digitally altered, or fabricated gift cards
  • Submitting cards obtained through unauthorized use of another person's credit card or account

2.2 Account Fraud

  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, bans, or verification requirements
  • Impersonating another person or entity
  • Providing false identity information during registration or verification
  • Using compromised or stolen account credentials

2.3 Payment Fraud

  • Providing false payment details to redirect payouts fraudulently
  • Attempting to claim payouts for cards that were rejected or not verified
  • Unauthorized access to another user's wallet or funds

2.4 System Abuse

  • Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the platform
  • Exploiting bugs, vulnerabilities, or errors in our system for personal gain
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer our verification or pricing logic

3. Verification Process

All gift card submissions undergo a multi-step verification process before payouts are approved:

  • Balance Check: We verify the card's remaining balance with the issuing retailer
  • Authenticity Verification: Cards are checked against known fraud databases and patterns
  • Account History Review: We review the submitting account's history for suspicious patterns
  • Manual Review: High-value or high-risk submissions may be manually reviewed by our team
  • Photo Verification: Uploaded card photos are cross-referenced with submitted code information

Verification typically completes within 24 hours. Complex or suspicious cases may take longer. We reserve the right to request additional documentation or information at any time.

4. Detection Methods

GiftCasher employs multiple layers of fraud detection, including but not limited to:

  • IP address monitoring and geolocation analysis
  • Device fingerprinting and behavioral analytics
  • Pattern recognition for submission frequency and amounts
  • Cross-referencing submitted cards against fraud blacklists
  • Real-time communication with card issuers and retailers
  • Machine learning models trained on historical fraud data

5. Consequences of Fraud

If fraud is detected or suspected, GiftCasher may take any or all of the following actions:

  • Immediate account suspension — pending investigation
  • Permanent account termination — for confirmed fraud
  • Forfeiture of wallet balance — funds may be frozen and forfeited
  • Chargeback of any previously made payouts — where legally possible
  • Reporting to law enforcement — local and international authorities
  • Civil legal action — to recover losses and damages
  • Blacklisting — device, IP, and identity blacklisting across our systems

Gift card fraud is a criminal offense in most jurisdictions and may carry significant penalties including fines and imprisonment. We cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies when investigating fraud cases.

6. Reporting Fraud

If you suspect fraudulent activity on the platform — including suspicious offers to buy gift cards at inflated rates — please report it immediately. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us.

Report fraud to: fraud@giftcasher.com

All reports are confidential and investigated by our dedicated security team. We may offer rewards for reports that lead to the prevention of significant fraud.

7. User Responsibility

Users are responsible for ensuring that gift cards they submit are legitimately obtained. Ignorance of a card's fraudulent origin is not an acceptable defense — if a card is found to be fraudulent, the account will be suspended regardless of claimed intent.

We strongly advise users to only submit gift cards they received as genuine gifts or purchased directly from authorized retailers.

8. Appeals Process

If you believe your account was suspended in error, you may appeal by contacting us at appeals@giftcasher.com within 14 days of suspension. Please include your account email, the reason for appeal, and any supporting evidence. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days.

GiftCasher's decision following an appeal review is final.

9. Policy Updates

This Anti-Fraud Policy may be updated as new fraud patterns emerge or regulations change. Users are responsible for reviewing this policy periodically. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
